This policy explains how BookLuve ("we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit bookluve.com, subscribe to our reader emails, or contact us. BookLuve is responsible for the personal information it collects through these activities. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@bookluve.com.
1. Information we collect
Newsletter subscriptions. Our signup form asks for your email address. Our email service may also record signup time, IP address, form source, confirmation status, and subscription preferences to process your request and maintain consent records. You do not need to select a genre to subscribe.
Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include in your message. Please avoid sending sensitive information that we do not need to answer your question.
Technical information. Our hosting and email providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and service logs to deliver and secure their services. Email engagement information, such as opens and link clicks, may be recorded through our email provider when tracking is enabled. Open reporting can be affected by email-client privacy features.
2. How we use information
We use your information to deliver newsletters you request, including romance recommendations, book offers, new releases, and giveaways; manage subscriptions and consent; respond to messages; understand email engagement when tracking is enabled; protect our website and mailing list against misuse; and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.
Browsing a category is optional and does not itself subscribe you to a separate genre list. You can explore any category and choose the books you want.
3. Newsletter consent and your choices
Submitting our newsletter form requests BookLuve marketing emails. If a confirmation email is sent, follow its instructions to complete your subscription. You can withdraw your consent using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or by emailing us. Unsubscribing stops future marketing emails but does not automatically erase records we need to honor that request or meet applicable obligations.
You can browse our book listings without subscribing. Contacting us with a question does not by itself request newsletter subscription.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We use MailerLite to process signup forms, manage subscribers, and send newsletters, and Bluehost to host the website. These providers process information needed to perform their services. MailerLite explains its practices in its Privacy Policy.
We do not sell or rent our subscriber list, or give it to featured authors for their own mailing lists. We may disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or the protection of legal rights. We will seek additional consent where required for a new use or disclosure.
5. Cookies, embedded content, and email tracking
Our site includes a MailerLite signup form and loads supporting resources from MailerLite. Loading or using these resources can send technical information, including your IP address, to that provider. Form services may use cookies or similar technologies for form functionality and abuse prevention. Newsletters may use tracking pixels and tracked links for open and click reporting when those features are enabled.
The current website does not include a separate advertising pixel or independent website analytics script added by BookLuve. If we introduce additional tracking, we will update this policy and provide choices where required. You can manage cookies in your browser and block remote images in your email app; these settings may affect forms or email features.
Our subscription popup uses your browser’s local storage to remember when it was shown, so it normally appears no more than once every seven days. If you successfully submit a signup form on this browser, we store a subscription marker to stop showing the popup here. These settings are stored on your device, do not contain your email address, and may be removed when you clear browser data. They do not identify subscription status on other devices.
6. Other websites, book offers, and giveaways
Book links, promotions, and giveaways may take you to third-party websites, including retailers, authors, or book-delivery services. Their privacy policies apply to information you provide there. Some free-book offers require joining the featured author’s newsletter. Each offer will explain its requirements. Joining BookLuve does not automatically add you to an author’s mailing list: the author’s signup page collects that separate subscription. Review that page’s terms and privacy information before signing up. BookLuve and author newsletters have separate unsubscribe links; unsubscribing from one does not unsubscribe you from the other.
7. Retention and security
We retain subscriber information while needed to provide requested emails and manage the mailing list. We may retain limited consent, unsubscribe, correspondence, and security records as needed to honor your choices, resolve issues, or meet legal obligations. Information no longer needed for these purposes should be deleted or anonymized.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and rely on our providers' security measures. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. International processing
Our service providers may store or process information outside your province or country, including outside Canada. Information processed elsewhere may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of those jurisdictions. Contact us if you have questions about our providers or these arrangements.
9. Access, correction, deletion, and complaints
You can contact info@bookluve.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited information where required or permitted by applicable law. We will explain any applicable limitations and respond within the timeframe required by the law that applies to your request.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, request portability, or complain to your local privacy authority. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about subscribers.
10. Adult audience
BookLuve features steamy romance for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, please contact us so we can address it.
11. Changes and contact
